Happy New Year!

I want to wish everyone a blessed and happy New Year.  This past year had some incredible and unbelievable changes for us and our family. That being said, I am taking a short hiatus from blogging (2 weeks or less) because the closing on the house is happening today, and we will start moving in tonight! I am unsure about the cable/internet stuff, so as soon as it is all hooked up and on, I will be back regularly.

I have spent the last two months intensely thinking about my blog, and what I want to blog about. I was never good at blogging about one thing, or having multiple blogs for separate things (ie – crafts and cooking) so I officially mixed everything together some time ago.

I love cooking, and I will be diving into serious New Mexican cooking this year (thanks to Sandy!) and will actually attempt to pen my asian style recipes. I had also worked on some of our family recipes this year, but I am having a hard time with the altitude and baking. Once I get that all sorted out, I hope to share some of our old time family recipes (ie – Great Grandma’s Sawdust Cake with Fudge Frosting).

Some time ago I stopped blogging about my son because I was so exhausted from all his care, and I felt like I was complaining and whining all the time. But I realized that while reading others blogs my whining may have been extremely helpful to someone else. So I think it’s time for Wyatt’s story and I will be expanding on what it is like to care for a special needs child.

We also having been helping to care for family that have physical medical needs and dementia/alzheimer’s type situations, and it has been extremely stressful. I would love to blog about it and in hopes ya’ll might have some good advice for me.

The Kimberley Rambles Section will remain the same, mostly photography and the various trips we take around the area. I can officially say that it is highly unlikely that we will move to another state again, and I am ready to dig my feet into becoming truly New Mexican this time around. My heart was always here and I am glad to be back.

And the craft section will continue on forever! I will now have the room to set up my rug loom, and we are very excited about that. I have a secret New Year’s resolution to knit every sock pattern by Yarnissima, so let’s hope and see!

Again, happy New Year, and much love to all our family and friends!

I enjoy reading the mix of things, as I am interested in a mix of things too! I do look forward to reading more about Wyatt, there’s not many blogs out there on boys with Ds this age. :)

And, yes, bring on the knitting and cooking!
